We’re companions on a pilgrim journey, § 677 following our Lord in his death and Resurrection, with our eyes on the glory to come. I’d like to salute my spiritual family by introducing you to my “brother, and sister, and mother,” companions on my journey to the Cross. Rabbi Yeshua has blessed me with a great number of wonderful companions on the journey. Two friends, Anne Kootz and Sharon Vander Zyl, from my home parish, share their own ways of living the journey.
“While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brethern stood outside, asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, ‘Who is my mother, and who are my brethern?’ And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brethern! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother’” Mt 12:46–50.
The LORD bless you and keep you: “The LORD make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The LORD lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace” Num 6:24–26.
