Selah

In the Psalms, an affirmation that something is rock solid and will endure forever. Talmud Erubin 54a describes selah as “forever.” In modern Hebrew, selah is “rock,” with connotations of enduring forever and of “rock solid reliable.” Pronounced séh-lah, with emphasis on the first syllable.

We find the possessive form, sali, my rock, in Scripture 2 Sam 22:2.
