Rabbi Yeshua‘s knowledge is infinite and eternal. He insists that we trust him because he knows of consequences we don’t. Some of them are outside the Church’s purview, but still vital to us. For instance, science suggests that women absorb and retain the DNA of every man they’ve ever had sex with!
Dr. Daniel Amen and Mrs. Amen were discussing a 2004 University of Seattle and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center study, which was a replication of an earlier study. Collective Evolution offers more detail about the study’s conclusions.
Should we believe the study? I think so. Catholic women should accept it because it’s consistent with Catholic teaching on offenses against the dignity of marriage. particularly chastity, fornication, and several aspects of St. John Paul II‘s Theology of the Body.
For those who uphold science as their highest authority, these studies have been consistent with scientific principles within their field of inquiry.
Even if we accept only a 50% probability that women do retain some of the DNA of every man they have sex with, it still constitutes a good reason for women to follow Catholic teaching on chastity, follow Gen 2:24, or at least to carefully consider which men to accept as bed partners.
We do not know all of the biological consequences of all these imprints. The female brain is built for one imprint, not for hundreds or thousands.
